On the road with our LASER Crosswelder
A new, automatic LASER Crosswelder has been developed at the Machines & Cryogenic Systems Department of Nexans Germany in Hanover. This compact and mobile unit connects metal strips for fully continuous production of cable sheaths and tubes.
For three days in December 2011, LASER specialist Olaf Petersen and Wolfgang Beckmann from Sales & Marketing visited potential customers in the metal strip processing industry in the Hagen/Westphalia region of Germany. The LASER Crosswelder was set up at these companies, where it was then used without any additional preparations to weld stainless steel strips according to the customers’ specifications.
The demonstration of our mobile LASER Crosswelder was a total success, particularly thanks to its ease of operation and the reproducibility of the entire process.
Plans are in place for a similar promotional campaign to be carried out in the Stuttgart region.
