Modular and individual
With a new service concept, Nexans Deutschland is improving choice for operators of high-voltage networks: as well as cables, lines and accessories for virtually every area of application, the team of experts from Hanover now offers all services which may be required over a cable's service life, from investment consulting to maintenance and proper disposal of wornout cables.
This includes the new 24-hour hotline and the rapid-response emergency repair service
Network operators benefit from these services in various ways: they save via a selective investment, protect the value of their networks and increase their availability.
The service agreements have the option to encompass selected modules or a customised service package. They can be used for all types of cable, irrespective of whether they are insulated using paper or VPE. The services in detail:
24-hour on-call service
A free hotline is available to all service customers during normal work hours. The experts give professional advice by telephone or initiate suitable repair measures. There is also the option of a 24- hour on-call service which can be contacted around the clock 365 days a year for a small charge.
Emergency repairs
Whether the reason is damage to VPE cables at construction sites or slow deterioration of oil-filled cables due to ageing, the Nexans emergency team responds rapidly to faults.
Emergency repairs to paper insulated cable systems are occurring ever more regularly due to the service life. However, they should only be carried out using specialised knowledge, which is gradually being lost by many network operators as their experts retire. Younger staff are often not conversant with this generation of cables. Nexans closes this gap: The service team is trained in the repair of all cable types and rectifies faults quickly and competently.
Depending on contract, response times can be agreed within which assembly staff are on site. If a valid service agreement is in place, an additional benefit is lower prices on fittings for VPE and paper insulated cables than with normal emergency repairs.
Modular emergency stock
The modular emergency stock ensures the availability of replacement parts, such as suitable fittings. After a joint inspection of the systems, the customer decides which components are essential and can stock these on his premises. Low-risk fittings and cables are stocked by Nexans and available to several service customers. This reduces the inventory that the customer has to stock and thus the tied-up capital, as only a small holding fee is charged for the reserved components. We would be pleased to
explain individual characteristics of this service module to you in more detail in person.
Engineering services
Service customers also benefit from a range of engineering and planning services. They can call upon expertise in everything from feasibility studies, budgeting, project planning, modification, reviews and training services right through to complex load-flow simulations. If the planning services lead to a construction project that is implemented by Nexans Deutschland, part of the planning costs will be reimbursed.
