This initiative, gathering companies, non governmental institutions, personalities of business and non-trading companies, has for objective to propose a more social, ecological and ethical concept for the globalization.
Officially proposed in 1999 to all the corporate managers, the Global Compact was launched by the General Secretary of United Nations during its speech at the World Economic Forum of Davos and then, entered its operational phase in July, 2000.
Nexans commitments
By signing the Global Compact, Nexans commits himself to promoting all of the ten principles defined by the UNO to its co-workers, suppliers and to all the partners. The Group is also getting involved to include them into his global, commercial strategies and into his internal management as well as to establish an annual report on his objectives and actions carried out in this domain.
Strong values
Thanks to this philosophy, our Group yearns, in its sphere of influence, for contributing to a more responsible world economy. As a member of the Global Compact, he encourages his suppliers and partners to copy their behavior on the principles which are described there.
