From research and development to system provider
|

Hürth, 20 July 2010 – Superconductivity has become mature and established itself as a modern technology. This fact now leads to an increased demand for working space at Nexans SuperConductors GmbH (NSC) which is a driving force for this development. In order to produce commercial products such as the superconducting fault current limiter, the company has rented new premises within the Chemical Park Knapsack in Hürth. Besides modern office space, NSC now benefits from a large new assembly hall with a crane installation allowing for a hook clearance of 7 m. As a result of the relocation, the dispensable laboratory capacity is now drastically reduced. The new building is located right next to our already existing production hall. Dr. Joachim Bock, Managing Director of NSC said: "The removal symbolizes our rapid transformation from an R&D-focused company to a system provider. The new assembly hall provides us with sufficient space to manufacture multiple current limiters in parallel." The new production facility has been officially inaugurated on 20th July.
The postal address and contact details for NSC remain the same.
