Nexans and KERPEN Special GmbH, Germany, today agreed to establish a substantial marketing cooperation to promote the future Cat.7 Interface GG45. Both companies believe that an alliance of strong partners is the best way to answer the trend towards high-end class F cabling and helps to secure market support for the newly standardised next generation interface from Nexans.
Nexans and KERPEN have signed a supply agreement in which KERPEN will become a strategic partner for Cat.7 and will resell the connector under the GG45 trademark as part of "Eline 600" program.
Nexans will promote GG45 as part of their own copper cabling system LANmark.
With Eline 600, KERPEN is today one of the market leaders in Germany for Class F cabling systems and has marketing experience as well as established sales channels for High End cabling systems. KERPEN will offer to their customer base GG45 as the standardised Cat.7 interface alongside their EC-7 offering.
Nexans is following an open market strategy for GG45 and will create a vendor independent market. Beside its success in standardisation, where Nexans' proposal was accepted for Cat.7 and will be adopted by other companies, Nexans will make GG45, its own product, available through partnerships. The agreement with KERPEN, which focuses on the German markets, is seen as the first step in this strategy.
