Trenching at the record water depth of 1,030 meters.

Project description:

• Securing a high-voltage submarine link between the Spanish mainland and Mallorca.

Project challenges:

• The seabed between the two connections reaches a depth of 1,500 meters, and protection was required down to 1,000 meters, which was a new challenge for the Capjet ®.   
   

Nexans' solution: The Capjet ® trenched 177 km of cable at a record-breaking depth of 1,030 meters. A survey of 150 km of the trenched route was also performed using the Capjet ®.
