Nexans Active Networking Systems (ANS) and HARTING Electric announce collaboration on the development and marketing of Ethernet industrial systems

Mönchengladbach, November 5, 2007 - Nexans, the global market leader in the cable industry, has confirmed today the signature of a partnership agreement with HARTING Electric, one of the leading companies in the field of electric and electronic connection technology and the manufacture of high-quality network components. This partnership is a logical reaction to increasing demand for intelligent solutions for industrial automation and will enable both companies to offer an extensive product range to the market. Nexans and HARTING already manufacture active system technology for Ethernet networks.

The partnership englobes strengths of both companies – Nexans knowledge in developing hardware and software for networks and Harting competence in manufacturing and marketing of Ethernet network solutions for industrial automation. The subject of automation IT, the aim of which is the continuous supply of data in the communications network, is the common denominator of this collaboration. Office IT and industrial solutions grow together here – and generate efficient solutions for maximum transparency.

Both companies will market the products independently of each other – Harting under the name mCON1000 and Nexans under the name iSwitch H300/500.
