Dr Francis Krähenbühl to become CEO of Nexans Deutschland

Hanover, December 20, 2007 – Dr Francis Krähenbühl (51) is to become CEO of Nexans Deutschland GmbH in Hanover with effect of January 1, 2008. He will succeed Dr Wolfgang Bedorf (61), who is to move from being the head of Nexans Deutschland to Nexans headquarters in Paris on February 1, 2008 where he will act as Executive Vice President, Rest of the World Area.

Krähenbühl has been Country Manager and head of Nexans Switzerland since 2004. He is extremely familiar with Nexans products as the trained chemist moved into the cable sector around 20 years ago following his initial professional successes at university. Starting out at the laboratory bench, he became head of development for his employer at the time, Câbles Cortaillod SA, within two years. The milestones of his career included his switch to Alcatel Kabel in 1996, which became Nexans in 2000 following the split-off from the Alcatel Group. In this role, Krähenbühl was responsible for energy cables until taking over the management of Nexans in Switzerland.

Parallel to his professional commitment, the father of three has also demonstrated his expertise publicly. 36 technical and scientific publications are evidence of Krähenbühl’s expert knowledge and his membership of various organisations concerning the cable and energy industry demonstrate his close connection to the company and the field. He is a member of ProCable, a Swiss association of cable manufacturers which is also plays a role at Europacable.
