Cable experts present installation cable and innovative network components

Nexans at the light+building trade fair in Frankfurt/Main, April 6 – 11, 2008

Vacha/Mönchengladbach, April 1, 2008 – From April 6-11, 2008 Nexans Deutschland Industries GmbH & Co. KG will be presenting its wide range of MV cables and installation cables for electrical distribution und solutions for data communications and telecommunications in Hall 8, Level 0, Corridor C, Stand 10 at the light+building trade fair for lighting, electrical technology and indoor automation in Frankfurt/Main.

Special installation cables offer protection in case of fire

In addition to widespread indoor installation solutions, the product range includes specialities such as the halogen-free RETHALON® and RHEYHALON® cables produced in Vacha. RHEYHALON® safety cables for E30, E60 and E90 function maintenance secure the electrical supply to butterfly dampers, sprinkler systems and extinguishing water pumps in the event of fire. The RETHALON® NHXMH+ B1 (in accordance with DIN 4102-B1) installation lines, which are not easily inflammable, also offer various forms of security. In the event of fire, they release very few toxic substances. In addition, very little smoke is produced: There is no effect on the eyes and airways while escape and rescue routes remain clearly visible. The lines counter the feared fuse effect, preventing the fire from spreading.
The new catalogue, “Kabel und Leitungen", which will be available at the trade fair stand, provides information on the full range of solutions for indoor technology. On 32 pages, the catalogue provides customers with all facts and properties concerning the data, installation and MV cables. The information can also be downloaded from the Internet.

Quality plug connections for office networks and computing centres

It is not only the company’s telephone and data cables which are evidence of the knowledge behind Nexans’ network solutions. In Mönchengladbach, developers and product managers in Nexans Cabling Solutions are developing products for data cabling. These include active components and plug connections for office networks and data centres. One example of the company’s expertise is the GG45  connectivity, which is established for Category-7 cabling (Class F). Structured cabling links with the robust GG45 enable extremely fast data transmission via copper wires and even comply with the channel requirements in accordance with Class Fa (Draft) with a bandwidth of up to 1 GHz. However, users are not required to adapt their cabling in order to use the GG45: it is compatible with the RJ45 plug and, therefore, with Category 5 and Category 6 cabling. For larger properties in particular, this provides a high degree of investment protection as it is possible to continue using, and gradually upgrade, an existing infrastructure. A large 3D-model of the GG45 jack will be shown at the trade fair stand. The exhibition team looks forward to providing visitors with information about this and other products.
