Long service life: Cable equipment for solar systems

Nexans presenting its KEYLIOS™ cable solutions for photovoltaic systems at the Intersolar trade fair
(8-10 June 2011, hall C3, stand C3.550)

Hanover/Mönchengladbach, 8 June 2011 – The KEYLIOS™ cable range from Nexans offers manufacturers of photovoltaic modules or junction boxes, as well as installation companies, project developers and wholesalers, a wide range of reliable solar system cable solutions. The ENERGYFLEX® cables for voltages from 0.6 to 1 kV with cross-linked polyolefin insulation are a core element of the KEYLIOS™ range. They have a service life of up to 30 years in addition to a high performance and simple installation options.

ENERGYFLEX® cable Photovoltaic modules on roofs or in solar parks are interconnected via ENERGYFLEX® cables for short DC connections; these cables also establish the connection to the ar-ray box or inverter. The halogen-free cables are resistant against ozone and UV radiation as well as extreme temperatures (-40°C to +120°C). They offer increased fire protection in the event of a fire thanks to their fire-resistant properties and low smoke development. The fully recyclable cables are LCIE, TÜV, UL and IMQ certified and fulfil the RoHS and REACH directives. They fit on all established connections and are colour-coded for ease of installation and phase identification purposes. ENERGYFLEX® cables are also available in an electron beam cross-linked version (with TÜV approval).

KEYLIOS™ product range

The KEYLIOS™ range covers all cable types that are required in residential or commercial photovoltaic systems or in solar parks. The range extends from photovoltaic low-voltage cables for the interconnection of modules to copper/aluminium cables for transporting energy from the precollectors and so-called array boxes to the inverters. The cable expert also offers earthing cables in order to protect against short-circuits in addition to halogen-free special cables for safe roof installations and silicon cables for extremely hot or cold environments. All components are fully compatible. Solutions for connecting inverters, transformers and switchgear are also available. Copper and fibre-optic solutions are ideally suited for monitoring and control purposes, regardless of whether sensor and bus cables for tracking systems are involved or the latest LANs and active switches for communication and monitoring. The cable range from Nexans is topped off by a wide range of services, which are tailored to meet the requirements of the solar sector: From monitoring and control via intelligent Internet gateways to drawing up ecological balances and lifecycle analyses and simulations for the development of the optimal architecture.
