Nexans to show a comprehensive range of innovative and reliable cables for materials handling industry

TOC Europe 2005, Antwerpen - Nexans, worldwide leader in the cable industry, is showing its comprehensive range of power and data cables developed to meet the specific needs of the materials handling industry in applications such as festoons, vertical hoisting and spreader cables. This includes a new product to be launched at TOC - Rheycord PUR cable - for energy chains and spring operated reels.

Nexans cables are thinner and lighter than competing designs, so they can offer important savings for the complete materials handling system. They also offer high tensile strength, flexibility, wear-resistance and increased torsional stability to ensure a long life cycle and increased safety, especially in the very latest, high-speed moving, applications.

Furthermore, Nexans is responding to the demand for increased communication capabilities, to enable the handling system to be fully integrated within a data-rich dynamic supply chain, by developing smarter crane cables including both hybrid power/databus cables based on copper technologies, or full-fledged optical fibre solutions.
