Nexans Stella Nova to host next CRU site visit – June 23rd

Feb 2, 2026

Nexans Stella Nova, our brand new innovation and excellence center located in Hanover and that was inaugurated in 2025, will be in the spotlight again next June. CRU, the leading independent authority for wire and cable news and market analysis, is to hold its flagship CRU Wire & Cable Conference in Hanover (Germany) from 23-25 June 2026. Nexans Stella Nova will be welcoming the CRU delegates ahead of the conference on June 23rd.

The visit will offer a unique insight into the cutting-edge and state-of-the-art facility dedicated to the construction of infrastructure for electrical energy transmission. Nexans Stella Nova includes in-house engineering and manufacturing of the most advanced technologies driving the future of electrification and energy transition from superconducting cable systems and cryogenic transfer line technologies to high precision forming and welding machines.

Superconductivity in the spotlight

Nexans will also be one of the key speakers at the conference. This year, the conference will bring together leading industry executives, technical experts, and key stakeholders to discuss the evolution of power generation, grid expansion, energy security and digitalisation required for the large increase in power demand for the electrification of industrial processes, hyperscale data centers and sustainable transportation.

Superconducting cable systems have a critical role to play in addressing these challenges.

More about superconductivity:

Nexans has been leading the way in superconducting technology for years, providing end-to-end superconducting solutions, from initial concept to deployment and commissioning.

Following last year’s summit that was held in Prague, Yann Duclot, Nexans Acceleration Units Director, will provide some further insights on this ground-breaking technology and clear evidence of its readiness. Superconductivity is currently advancing industrial applications, and is a commercial reality, offering signifcant potential to transform diverse sectors from power networks and rail industry to datacentres. The deployment of superconducting technology can facilitate the transition towards a low-carbon society and is poised to contribute significantly to the development of a resilient future power grid.
