Nexans Power Accessories, the specialist in electrical connection technology, sees significant opportunities in a growing market.

Whether in mobility, heating, data centers, industry or commerce, the world will increasingly rely on electricity in the coming years. Furthermore, electricity will play an even more decisive role in energy generation, connecting decentralized producers, and distribution. The substantial increase in energy demand coincides with ageing electrical infrastructures and need for more cable, presenting significant opportunities for Nexans.

As a specialist in electrical connection technology, Nexans Power Accessories Germany – based in Hof, Upper Franconia, supplies high-quality connectors to global customers.

Investments in strategically important areas

Nexans has recently expanded its manufacturing capacity in Hof and invested around two million euros in a new, fully automated machining center for the production of metal connectors for power cables. This enables to process customer orders even more flexibly and promptly than before: a key competitive advantage.

The new machine operates with high energy efficiency, its setup is semi-automatic and it uses an ergonomically-designed lifting and tilting device to ease the work of the operators.

“ We are very active in the technical development of our cable connection solutions, which can continuously open up new applications and business opportunities. Nexans Power Accessories will increasingly focus on the renewable energy sector, and is also investing in the efficiency and digitization of all internal processes. All of this requires significant investments that are necessary to answer the challenges of the future. ”

Increased environmental focus

Nexans will further strengthen its environmental focus to contribute to carbon neutrality by the year 2030. This includes the use of renewable energies on-site, the development of low-carbon eco-designed products, certified environmental management and the optimization of all logistics processes through short supply-chain and electromobility.

People at the heart of our values

Besides enhancing efficiency and our environmental footprint, employees are at the heart of Nexans values: "We are proud that our Nexans team consistently provides excellent work” concludes Heike Herdt.

This strategic investment coincides with Nexans Power Accessories 65th  anniversary celebration at the Hof location.
